6 Refreshing Autumn Cocktails To Whip Up For Thanksgiving Day

If there is one sure fire way to spice up Thanksgiving Day, it’s with some innovative, festive cocktails. Anyone who is looking for alcoholic beverage inspiration has come to the right place. This Thanksgiving, instead of opting for the usual glass of red vino with your turkey, try one (or several) of these six refreshing autumn cocktails.

1.       Pear Mimosas

This crisp, elegant beverage is delightfully simple to make. All you will need is two bottles of chilled champagne, four cups of fresh pear nectar, and four limes, halved. Fill eight flutes with ¾ cup of champagne before topping with the pear nectar. Squeeze and drop a lime wedge into each champagne flute and serve. For a non-alcoholic alternative, substitute the champagne with ginger ale.

2.       Apple Cider Sangria

If you love both apple cider and sangria, you will go crazy about the combination of the two. This is another easy cocktail to whip up. Combine a bottle of Pinot Grigio with one cup of club soda, 2 ½ cups of apple cider, and ½ cup of ginger brandy. Add three chopped apples and three chopped pears before chilling for approximately one hour.

3.       Caramel Apple Martini

The presentation of the caramel apple martini is just as important as the taste of it. To start, rim your martini glasses with either caramel or cinnamon. The cinnamon will stick to the rim after dipping the martini glass in apple cider. Place ice, caramel vodka, apple cider, and butterscotch schnapps into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Pour the mixed cocktail into each martini glass and garnish with a sliced apple.

4.       Cranberry Sauce Margarita

The beauty of the margarita is the incredible variations you can try with it. – especially this wintery cranberry sauce margarita. Prepare your margarita glasses by rimming them with brown sugar. Next, fill a cocktail shaker with tequila, cranberry sauce, honey, lime juice, and ice. Shake vigorously before straining the mixture into each glass. Garnish the drinks with fresh or frozen cranberries, and serve.

5.       Spiced Pumpkin Punch

Diehard pumpkin lovers will lose their minds over this seasonal concoction, so quintessential for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Certainly don’t be afraid to serve it all fall and winter. To yield one adult-sized drink, combine one ounce of pumpkin puree, one ounce of lemon juice, a teaspoon of honey, two ounces of bourbon, three ounces of ginger beer, a pinch of ground cinnamon, and 1/8 teaspoon of grated ginger. Mix all the ingredients but the ginger beer into a cocktail shaker and shake. Strain into your glass of choice and mix in the ginger beer. Finally, garnish your beverage with a dash of cinnamon, sage leaves, and a cinnamon stick, if you desire.

6.       Vanilla Vodka Chai Tea

Maybe you have never been a fan of tea before, but after trying this cocktail you’ll be singing a different tune. First, prepare three cups of chai tea (this will produce four alcoholic beverages). After allowing the tea to cool, combine it in a cocktail shaker with creamer, vanilla vodka, amaretto liqueur, and sugar. Pour over ice and garnish with a cinnamon stick before serving.
